The Muati Islands
Also known as the Melting Islands, the Muati Islands were once the home of Muati, one of the Twenty Nations. Near the northern edge of the Known World, these islands are best known for the massive ice flows which wreath them from late autumn to early spring. In fact, in the depths of winter, it is possible to walk from one side of the island chain to the other (most years, at least).
The Muati Islands have long been a gathering place for several druidic orders. Thickly covered in wilderness throughout the reign of the Dominion, the islands are also home to a handful of elaborate standing-stone monuments erected by their druids. These monuments align with Aerinsandae, the guiding star (always present in the sky above the islands), as their focal point. Those with proper working knowledge of these creations can use them to track seasonal changes, and, according to their creators, predict future trends in nature. Druids still occupying the area claim that weather patterns, animal migration, and even annual precipitation can be foretold by their creations.
