Dwarves have long inhabited Neisagh Kaern (or Great Holds) within The Flaming Mountains, deep in The Great Desert. Longtime masters of rune magic, the dwarves typically kept to themselves, although a few wars with the neighboring Lizardfolk were recorded. By the coming of the humans, the dwarves of Kythar had already begun harnessing some of the more advanced technologies of the world.
Due to these unique talents, the Great Holds were allowed to remain the sovereign lands of their dwarven inhabitants, provided trade of magical and technological items continued with the human nations. This trade has continued, even following the collapse. Keeping mostly to themselves, dwarves don’t necessarily hate humans, although they see them as greedy, demanding brutes who think they are better than anyone else.
